The LCB wished him well in his deserved retirement and thanked him for all his tireless work and efforts for recreational cricket in Lancashire. Ian had some big shoes to fill when he replaced the good doctor in 2008 after 2 years as Vice-Chairman and many years on the leagues Management Committee for his home club Woodhouses CC and he has continued the good work leading one of the best organised league committees around.

In his 21st year as League Secretary after many years as secretary of the L&C league, Bob continues to drive the league forward with his excellent organisation, all this in a modern era whilst remaining a complete technophobe!

Bob still resides at his natural home at Prestwich CC where he performed so well as a player and on matchdays he is found as scorer for the first XI and doubling up as a coach and manager along the way too.

Bob has recently been recognised for his abilities and has been appointed as the new Chairman of the Lancashire Cricket Board and every one in the Lancashire County League wishes him the very best in this new role.
